NEW to Sensor Health!
Urine culture paddles for rapid urine culturing.
CLED (Cystine-Lactose-Eletrolyte-Deficient) agar for support of both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria common to urine specimens. The characteristic swarming of Proteus is prevented by the electrolyte deficient nature of the medium. Lactose fermenting bacteria produce a colour change of the agar from pale green to yellow.
EMB (Eosin Methylene Blue) agar is used for detection and isolation of Gram negative intestinal pathogenic bacteria. Lactose fermenting bacteria have dark colonies, purple or black. With certain lactose fermenting bacteria, a green sheen may be seen across the surface of the agar.
An incubator is required for testing with Uricult.
Product is stored at room temperature, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Do not freeze.
Each box contains 10 culture paddles, in individual vials with self-adhesive patient labels, interpretation chart and instructions.
Note: Used specimens, containers and media plates should be properly disposed in accordance with provincial and local laws.
